The One That Got Away

Oh, if I could go back in time
The door slammed behind her enveloping her in the icy chill of the morning rain, chilling the stream of tears pouring down her face. She was soaked in seconds, but didn’t care enough to cast a protective charm. She was just replaying everything over and over in her head wondering how she could be so stupid to fall for him. How she could fall for Draco.

When you only held me in my mind
After they ran into each other in the ministry, Hermione just couldn’t get him out of her mind. He was sweet and considerate and her head was filled with thoughts of him. So blinded, by her fantasies that she didn’t notice that she had fallen for him until it was too late and they were at each other like vicious animals driven by primal need.  For months this had happened and she was too caught up in her dream to notice the falsity of his behavior.

Just a longing gone without a trace
She wiped her tears off of her face as she braced her shoulders and walked with her head held high. She tried to stop the hitch in her breathing as the image of him digging his wand threateningly into her throat and the look of utter hatred written over his face and deep in his cold silver eyes. It all unraveled so fast, her fantasy shattered, and she was still reeling from the actions that occurred moments before.

Oh, I wish I never ever seen your face
He seemed to have changed when they ran into each other and was no longer such an unfeeling git, but she was wrong to think that. Too consumed with his looks and her fantasies to see beyond the act he was putting up. He didn’t change, not really. Sure he got over his childish racism, but everything else was the same. And as she walked away from his door she swore she would forget about him, and she was warmed by her anger and loathing of him. The one she, stupidly, used to love.
